What is an Internet T1?
An Internet T1 (sometimes spelled T-1) is a high speed telecommunication line that can carry 24 digitalized voice channels, or it can carry data at a rate of 1.544 megabits per second. TI lines carry about roughly 30 times more data than a normal dial-up modem. |
Frequently Asked Questions About DIRECTV (FAQ) If I live in an apartment, condominium, or other multi-tenant unit, can I install DIRECTV? Ask your landlord or property manager about installing a DIRECTV® satellite dish on your building's roof or other suitable location. If you are not allowed to place the dish on the roof, ask if you can install the DIRECTV dish on your patio, balcony, or other suitable location. The most important consideration is having a clear view of the Southern sky. Your DIRECTV system installation may require structural modifications that could be limited or restricted by your lease. If that is the case, in order to avoid delays in your DIRECTV installation, please obtain written or verbal permission from your landlord or confirm permission by reviewing your lease agreement prior to scheduling your installation and document the permission using the DIRECTV Installation Permission form. Please note that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a rule that prohibits landlords and local governments from enforcing unreasonable restrictions on the installation of satellite dishes that are one meter or smaller in size.

Call us at 1-866-WAY-U-MOVE (1-866-929-8668) before you actually move to take advantage of our DIRECTV MOVERS CONNECTION™, a free program for our customers who are moving and want to keep their DIRECTV service. All you need to do is take your DIRECTV equipment to your new residence and leave the dish behind at your old residence. Please note that, if you are moving to Alaska or Hawaii, you might need new equipment. If you're moving outside the United States, we are legally prohibited from offering services to you unless you are moving to a location in Latin America. If you are moving to a location in Latin America, please review our offerings for that market. Can I get DIRECTV programming on more than one television set in my home? Yes. Each TV in your home can have a DIRECTV receiver so you can watch a different program on each TV at the same time. There is a $4.99 per month fee for each additional receiver.
If I have more than one receiver, is the full monthly subscription price charged for each additional receiver? No. You can connect more than one television to a DIRECTV receiver. The programming for your primary access card in your primary receiver is copied for all of the access cards in the additional receivers and you will be authorized to receive this same level of programming on all of these televisions! After you receive your DIRECTV programming on your additional receivers, we will verify that all of your receivers are continuously connected to the same phone line. If we find that one of the receivers is not connected to the same phone line, we will discontinue service to that receiver and you must call us to re-establish your service.
What is the easiest way to surf the large number of channels provided by DIRECTV? DIRECTV receiving equipment includes an on-screen program guide that you can use to quickly find the programs you are looking for. You can also set up lists of favorite channels to make channel surfing much easier. Another way to easily find programs is to use channel neighborhoods that make it easy to find the type of programming that interests you. These channel neighborhoods include the following topical areas: Programming Channels

Written by: Patrick Oborn - Nov 21, 2008 At the most fundamental level, a t1 internet connection is the link from your companies data infrastructure to the rest of the world. A T1 connection is sometimes referred to as a "dedicated service" as the service is delivered to and from the customer premises from the CO (Central Office) without combining it with other traffic. A T1 connections is established by providing a "loop" or wire from the users premesis to the CO where the service provider has equipment. Part of the cost of a T1 is the "loop charge" or the monthly rental fee for the wire that is rented from the local phone company. Once the connection reaches the CO it can access the carriers network and reach any destination. While understanding the service may be somewhat straightforward, getting the service implemented is not always so easy. Like any business decision, a switch in T1 providers should be properly researched. You probably don't have time to listen to all carriers sales pitches that you should in order to get the best service, however. Consider shopping in real time by using a broker at T1 Price Quote. While a broker is always a time saver in telecom shopping, the creators of Shop4T1.com have made it even easier to shop for T1 service by introducing the first real-time bandwidth and loop calculator. With real-time information you'll be able to quickly analyze service plans in your area and determine what is right for you. The people at ShopForT1.com have created a system that equalizes the carriers and makes them easier to compare by laying them out side by side and showing the features of each service. Need more help? They also have agents that will assist you free of charge. These agents make their money when you sign with one of the many service providers so you don't have to worry about them pushing you into a contract that you don't want with a carrier that you don't want. Get your price, ask your questions and be certain when you make your choice. |
